Synopsis: A car
suddenly goes off track and jumps into the river. Inspector Shurjan Singh Shekhawat
(Aamir Khan) came to investigation and found that famous actor Armaan kapoor
had died in that accident. In the beginning of the investigation, Surjan thinks
it is case of blackmailing which leads him into a club called hotel Lido which
is used for prostitution. A man named Shashi seemed quite shocked to hear the news
of the death of Armaan kapoor but hides this news from his girl and a person
who worked their called Temur. It was also showed that Armaan has paid money to
Shashi for some reason too. Surjan on investigation of Hotel Lido meet an
escort girl called Rosie (Kareena kapoor Khan) and gives him some information.
Surjan on that information goes for the whereabouts of shashi where he
interrogates both Mallika and Temur. On seeing that Temur called Shashi’s old
number and found that after Armaan kapoor’s death Shashi was black mailing
Sanjay (Armaan’s friend). Sanjay thought that Shashi has become greedy and planned
to kill him. At a society function, Frenny said to both Surjan and Roshni (Rani
Mukherjee) that she has message of Karan (their dead son) to give them. Seeing
this Surjan got upset, scold her to go away but Roshni secretly starts meeting
her. Rosie gave some information to Surjan when they meet on road again. Meanwhile
after Shashi’s death Temur decided to find the truth. On order of prostitution
head he takes Mallika back to that Prostitution place so that he could find the
bag that arman gave to shashi. There he found a CD with the bag. CD contains an
old footage of Hotel Lido where Armaan, Sanjay and a 3rd person was
seen along with Rosie. In the flashback on that day Rosie got injured and ahshi
arranged a private treatment for her. Knowing this Temur starts Blackmailing
Sanjay. Rosie meets Surjan and told her that she once had meet Sanjay, Arman
and a third person called Nikhil. Hearing that Surjan goes to meet Nikhil which
he later came to know that he has been paralyzed since 3 years.
Surjan in the meanwhile finds
out that his wife Roshni is secretly meeting frenny. He scolds her but in
returns she accuses her of having affair some other girl. Surjan didn’t answer
that and moved from their quietly. Same night she meet Rosie again. In the
Hotel Rosie ask Surjan that he should help Mallika as she is in deep trouble
there. Surjan Saves Maillka and return of the favor, she tells him that Temur
has an idea whats going on in this case. Temur on other hand planned take money
by blackmailing sanjay and give it to Nirmala, a prostitute he likes. He called
sanjay at Mumbai’s Church gate to give him the money but Sanjay sends some
goons to kill Temur. Temur Gives money to Nirmala but got caught by Sanjay
goons and was killed. When Sanjay was about to die, he sees Rosie which was
very mad at him as he always said that he is her friend but goes for money. The
goons wer caught by Surjan and they confessed that Sanjay had send them to kill
Temur. He raided on Sanjay’s house where Sanjay confessed that 3 yrs a go there
celebrating Nikhil’s birthday. Nikhil ordered an escort girl called Simran from
Hotel Lido. He tried to have some fun with her in the car but car’s door opened
up suddenly and both Nikhil and Simran got injured. Armaan and Sanjay took
Nikhil to hospital but due to Humiliation they left Simran there asking Shashi
to take care of her. Shashi starts blackmailing sanjay by sending them tapes
and said to them Simran had died. Seeing tapes Surjan got surprised to see
Rosie in that. Surjan believes that both Shashi and Rosie were together in blackmailing
them. When Surjan was taking Sanjay back to police station he sees Simran in
the back seat. Then he sees Simran on that road. Being frightened he suddenly
turned the Steering of the Vehicle and car got into the river. Deep inside the
river in his vehicle when he woke up sees Sanjay is dead and he was stuck.
Suddenly Simran appears in the middle of the river, opens the door and gave a
smile and went back. Being alive Surjan realized that it was simran’s spirit
that gives him clues all the time to catch her culprits. She also realized that
her dead body must be buried somewhere at that place where she said she feel
relaxed. Later he cremated her. He found the letter which contains a message from
their dead son in which he said that he wants to sees his mom and dad Happy.
Review: An
excellent movie full of Thriller, Mystery and a little drama. Acting of Aamir
khan was good but I have to say acting of Kareena kapoor Khan was also excellent.
The movie holds itself together all the time. Direction is also good. Songs are
good specially “Muskaan Joothi Hai”. Only thing is if you have seen Hollywood
movie “Elephant White” you will feel it a little disappointed cause most of the
movie is almost the same as Elephant white. But I also admit Talaash movie is
somewhat better that Elephant White.I will deduct the half star for being movie almost same as Elephant White movie. Overall a very good mysterious thriller movie to watch.
