Synopsis: Mike Enslin (John Cusack) is an unpopular and not so well going author. He wants to write a book on supernatural events although he doesn’t believe in that after the death of his daughter Katie recently. He receives an anonymous post card written on it “don’t enter 1408” from the Dolphin, a hotel in New York City. Being enthusiastic Mike forces the hotel to have a booking of that room. Hotel manager Gerald Olin (Samuel L. Jackson) persuade him not to book and go in that room as 56 people has died in that room from few years and no one stayed alive more than 1 hour in that room. But Mike insisted in taking that room as he does not believe in paranormal activity. When he went into that room, he records in his mini cassette about the whole appearance of the room like dull appearance, shabby type of looks of the room etc. Suddenly the clock radio starts playing “we have just begun”. Mike at beginning starts thinking this is just the trick of the hotel staff. At 8:07 the song starts singing again. Now Mike starts experiencing some super natural events like slamming of the door by a widow, hallucinations of the previous victims and especially of his own daughter Katie. He tries to get out of the room but all in vain.

To contact his wife Lily (Mary McCormack) for help, he tries to use laptop but sprinkler system short-circuits his laptop too. Suddenly room temperature goes below Zero and his laptop begins working again. Lily told him that police has been the 1408 as told by him but the room is empty and no one was there. A same lookalike of Mike came to the chat window and ask Lily to come to hotel. Mike breaks a picture in that room which starts flooding the room. He was on a beach surface and after that reconciles with Lily and thought that it was at all just a dream. Lily asks him to write a book about it, but on visiting post office to send his script he saw some people as construction crew and recognizes it as the hotel staff previously in that hotel. After destroying post office it is revealed that Mike is still there is room 1408. Mike saw the vision of Katie and seeing that he again felt charged. Again that song begins to play and Mike looked for the same Radio clock. As it ends room changed to normal again and clock radio sets itself again at 60:00. Suddenly the operator calls Mike after the resetting of the clock.

Mike asks her to release him but she said he can relive the hour over and over again. Mike sees a vision of himself being hanged in that room but he refused to do that to himself and sets the room on fire. The whole was evacuated and Lily was stopped at the entrance so that she could not be sent in that room. Firefighters pull Mike to safety from that room. In the office Olin said “Well done Enslin well done.” When Mike meet Lily as the entrance he told the whole story to Lily but she didn’t believe him even a bit. As both were moving back, Lily finds a box from the rubble of 1408 and finds his tape recorder. He plays that he hears the conversation of him and Katie. Lily hearing this came at a shock stares at Mike with Shock and was scared and Mike to was watching Lily grimly and scene black outs.

Review: It is one of the best horror and thriller movies that one can see. John Cusack performance in the movie was commendable and rest of the cast performance was also decent. Direction of the movie was good and so do was the special effects. Most impressive part of the movie was the story and screenplay part that was simply brilliant but although ending was a bit low to standard which it has raised during the whole movie and that was a little disappointment. The movie has 3 alternate ending which was very unique and what we feel the best ending will be the original ending of the movie which was not included was the feel it was a little low to the context of the movie. But overall movie was great and definitely to be watch who liked horror and thriller type of stuff.

Insidious: Chapter 2

Synopsis: In the late 1980’s when Josh was still a kid, he is having the ability of astral projection where Josh as a kid having trouble with the old lady in black dress. Elise at that time with the help of another person named Carl helping her in that case. Young Josh told Elise about the whereabouts of the problem haunting him. Elsie with young Josh’s signal reached their but having some infection of her hand suddenly went out of there and told that problem is big enough. Elsie told Lorraine that the best thing for him to make him forget his astral projection abilities. Now in the present time, Police detective is questioning Renai (Rose Byrne) that is Josh’s wife about the death of Elise in her house. Josh was freed on the bail from Police custody. Soon after, Renai starts hearing some strange events again in the house which they were living now. As when Renai was in her bed piano starts playing itself on its own, footsteps voices but no one was there. Renai suspects Josh for all the mysterious happenings but Josh told her that he has stay calm and everything will be okay. Lorraine also saw a mysterious white woman in their home and tries to follow her but suddenly seeing that woman she got very scared. Josh suddenly meet her and told her that there is nothing to be afraid and he doesn’t want his family to again get upset. Renai too saw the same mysterious woman which Lorraine saw and tries to follow her but sooner that woman slapped her so hard that it knocked Renai unconscious.

Desperate for help Lorraine went to Elsie colleagues Specs and Tucker and asks them to help her that what is going wrong. As Elsie is gone now so Lorraine called Carl for help them in this case. He attempts to contact Elsie through dices. Elsie through told them that it’s the mother who killed and she wanted to kill them all as well. Also she told “Angel” when asked where to find her. Which Lorraine remembered that it’s the hospital where she used to work at before? When they went there they find the files of patient Parker Crane, a patient in ICU which committed jumping off the roof many years ago. All four of them then go to Parker Crane’s home hoping to find some clue’s over there. In Parker’s home, they found some clue’s as well as some memories of him being as a girl. The found the room where people were murdered and were kept as such also the black gown and veil and a statue as well as some clipping of the newspaper written on the murders of the people. Carl through his ability came to know that it was Parker Crane in the black gown of the lady which committed the murders and his mother forced him to do so. All of them somehow escaped from there.

Renai when was about to enter in the her own home was stopped by Lorraine and told her to go away from here as Josh was still inside the home and her kids her being left at her friend. Lorraine told Renai that it’s not the house which is having the problem but it’s Josh who is the problem here that he is possessed by the soul of Parker Crane which came in when he tries to rescue Josh during astral Projection and the real Josh is still trapped in the Further. Carl attempts to take down Josh who is now possessed by Parker by a Drug to be put in him but the attempt was foiled as Josh now brought a knife with Carl came to know through dices. Specs and Tucker came to his aide but Josh possessed by Parker took all of three knocked out. When Lorraine and Renai came back, Josh started to behave differently which both Lorraine and Renai came to know that its Parker crane now. Josh attacked both of them. He locked Lorraine in the closet and tried to choke Renai to death but Dalton knocked him on his head which gives time for Renai, Dalton and Foster to escape from there and all three of them went to basement. In the Basement, Dalton asks Renai to let him go to the Further where he could find real Josh and will get back with real Josh. Renai allows that. Dalton with a tin can telephone ties with him and sleeps to go to Further.

On other side, real Josh and Carl meet each other and tried to find Elsie in their previous mansion. When real Josh fighting with a soul in the further in Lambert’s mansion and he was having trouble to overcome that evil soul, Elise came there and meet both Carl and Josh. They suddenly went to Parker’s home and to the memories of him where his mother was abusing him that his name is not Parker and he is not a boy and his name is Merilyn and he is a girl. Mother of Parker notices all of three and pushes away from there. Josh suddenly finds some bodies standing there and one of them was Parker’s mother which attacks Josh. Also the possessed Josh breaks into basement and was about to kill Dalton who was in Further. As Parker’s mother was about to kill real Josh, Elise came there and starts hitting her with rocking horse chair and killed her. Dalton meets the three of them and assisted Carl and Josh to escape from there with the help of the string of the tin can telephone. In the present world, Josh collapsed and regained conscious and told them he is the real one now. Carl hypnotized Josh and Dalton so that they forget their astral projection abilities and lead a normal life. Next scene came as Specs and Tucker rang a bell of house and speaks to the parents of the daughter for whom they want help. Elise walks into the home and wants to talk to the daughter Allison to tell her what’s going on in here. Some noises and a shadow behind the girl came up and Elise shocking said “Oh my God”.

Review: As Insidious part 1 gains a lot of acknowledgement from people around the world a lot was expected from this part and it delivered to the expectations pretty well. It’s the same as creaky noises, footsteps and door banging noises which will raise the thrills in the movie pretty and have some scenes which will damn scare to the fullest specially of the mother slapping and saying “Don’t you Dare”. Performance was almost decent one by almost all the characters of the movie. Direction as usual of James Wan was brilliant and so can be said for the screenplay of the movie. A little disappointment could be said in the story part. The story part which raised so many standards in the 1st part of Insidious goes down a little bit in this part. Overall James Wan has re-engineered a new type of thrill and horror in the film industry which is very fun to watch out. A good movie and a must watch for everyone.

Resident Evil: Retribution

Synopsis: Fleet of airships attacked Arcadia on which Alice, Claire and the rest of the survivors were there. The attack was lead by Jill Valentine who was one of the former allies of Alice but now during the attack she didn’t remember anything as a spider like device is attached to her chest which has brainwashed her. Alice was able to crash one of the airships and due to that a bog explosion happened which knocks down Alice. Next scene came as a house who looks alike as Alice is living with her husband Todd with their daughter Becky who is deaf in a suburban area. Some Zombies attack them in their home. As both Alice and Becky escapes from their house and runs on the streets, they were rescued by a girl who same as Rain (Michelle Rodriguez). When they were escaping through the car, their car hit by a truck which resulting in knocking out of Rain. Alice and Becky escapes from there. It is shown as the whole city is now same look alike as Raccoon city during the zombie attack. Soon Alice was killed by zombie turned Todd. After some time, Alice awakes and finds herself being held captive by Umbrella. Alice tries to escape from cell in which she was kept. As she tries to escape she went into the chambers she sees herself in Shibuya Square, Tokyo. As she fights herself from the zombies from Tokyo, she was able to return to the Umbrella’s facility. As she moved ahead in the facility, she meets Ada Wong one of the top agents of Albert Wesker.

Albert Wesker appears on the screen and tells Alice that the Red Queen was reactivated after the Hive contamination by the Umbrella is now controlling the whole systems of Umbrella Corporation. Ada tells Alice that the facility is underwater located in Kamchatka, Russia as this base was used to show the effects of T-virus on the clones which were also manufactured here and it is the only way to the base from the land. To provide help to Alice and Ada so that they can escape, Wesker has arranged a group of men for their help comprising Leon S Kennedy, Barry Burton and Luther West. The group will plant bombs at the entrance of base which will detonate in two hours which will ensure that the base has to be destroyed at any cost. Alice and Ada enters the New York simulation created by Red Queen. They defeated two axeman and rest of the zombies in that simulation. Leon and others enters the Moscow simulation and deals with the newly breed zombies. Alice and Ada enters the Suburban simulation and waits to meets Leon and the others as originally planned by them. In that simulation, they meet Becky which treats real Alice as her mother in the suburban area. Ada tells her that Umbrella uses clones for virus breakout simulations and what she sees here is clones. The group was attacked by Jill and her men which includes clones of Rain who was one of the previous ally of Alice, Carlos and James the leader of SWAT group which Alice meet at the entrance of Hive. Alice and Becky runs from their and meets Rain (the good one) which is on their side and enters Moscow’s simulation which they meet Leon and rest of the group. Alice traced Lickers present their while Leon and others starts gun fight with Jill and her men. They make their way through the zombies and reached the elevator. Soon Lickers killed Becky and Rain (Good version). After Alice rescues Becky both of them reached the cloning facility where they see their multiple clones. As Alice sees Lickers following them through the facility, she drops grenades resulting in explosion in the facility. The bombs planted at the entrance facility also starts exploding now. Luther and Leon escapes through the elevator and where Alice and Becky escaped through ventilation system.

Jill and her men captured Ada and ambushed Alice and rest of the group when reached at the surface of the base. Jill starts attacking Alice. Rain (Evil Version) injects herself with some parasite which gives her superpowers which will help her in taking down the group. She starts fighting Ada, Leon and Luther. Rain kills Luther by breaking his ribs and stops his heartbeat. Leon is knocked out. Alice manages to break the spider device attached to Jill which results in Jill comes backs to her normal state. Alice on realizing that Rain can’t be killed after attempting so many times, shoot at ice which results in falling of Rain. She tries to come back but the zombies pulled her back in the water. Alice after sometime lost her passes out due to injuring and fallout of her stamina. Alice, Jill, Becky, Leon and Ada travelled to Wesker’s base staffed by STARS officers. Alice meets Wesker and soon Wesker injects her with T-Virus which will give her former powers back as she was the only person who successfully bonded with that virus. Wesker tells Alice the reason she is given back her powers is that Red Queen is trying to take control over the world and killing all humanity and who are the survivors left are present here. At the end, it is shown that Wesker’s men along side with US armed forces are defending White house against the T-virus zombies. A fight against the T-virus and red Queen has just come to a whole new level.

Review: It’s all the same as rest of the prequels of Resident Evil. Same predictable scenes with almost same type of action sequences. Milla Jovovich as usual did her level best as per her performance and some classy moves are concerned. Anderson this time tried to make a different type of story in this part which he succeeded to some extent. Story of the movie seems to be so unclear and distorted that some may think what has gone wrong with Resident Evil. Some scenes which were not at all needed in the movie were unnecessarily there. Rest of the crew’s performance was as usual decent enough. What resident evil was about actually a virus breakout with some horrifying experiences and in the end day saved by some skilled officers has now looked in the Resident Evil movie sequels as killing of zombies with some good action sequences by Milla Jovovich and nothing else.

Resident Evil: Afterlife

Synopsis: Some of the Alice (Milla Jovovich) clones attacks the umbrella facility of Japan in order to kill Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts). Alice clones killed most of the security men of that facility but Wesker too planted an explosion in the facility which results in killing of the Alice clones. When Wesker was about to escape the facility in the aircraft, real Alice ambushed him but he injected a serum in her which will neutralize her T-virus powers. But before Wesker was able to kill Alice, the aircraft got crashed, but Alice survives that and came out alive. Six months later, Alice was travelling in an airplane following the repeating emergency broadcasts from a place called Arcadia which she believes in free from the T-Virus. During the flying of the plane, Alice suddenly sees the helicopter in which Claire and other survivors had escaped from the facility (in the prequel). She then meets Claire with a spider like device attached to her chest but Alice destroyed that, but Claire lost her memory due to that. They both were travelling back to LA to follow the repeated emergency and when they entered LA they sees a Help sign on the building and landed there. She and Claire meet some other survivors living in that building which includes Luther West, Bennett, Wendell and Kim Yong. Luther and other survivors asked Alice that are they being send by Arcadia to which she told them that Arcadia is in Alaska and they are being sent by Arcadia. Luther shows Alice a ship named Arcadia through binoculars and told them that Arcadia isn’t in Alaska but a ship As Claire and Alice meet the survivors present in that building, they also came to know that there is also another survivor named Chris Redfield who is an Umbrella Corporation is locked in the prison by the prisoners as a cruel joke and knows the way to Arcadia and ready to tell only after they will let him free but they don’t believe him and has kept him in the prison

Soon the zombies managed to enter into the tunnel through the sewers into the prison building. The giant zombie with a large blade enters into the prison as well as comes in front of the building as well. Seeing no way out, Alice frees Chris so that he could them the way out of here. After being freed, seeing Claire too he tells her that he is her brother but as Claire is under Amnesia she doesn’t remember him. Chris tells them that there is an armored vehicle and they could escape in that from the prison. One group containing Alice, Crystal and Chris went into the armory to get the guns while Luther and Claire were holding Axeman and the zombies at the gate. Seeing the engine is not there in the armored vehicle and it will takes weeks to fit that engine, Bennett cleverly shots at them and went to Arcadia ship alone leaving the rest of survivors there and flew in the Alice plane. Seeing no other alternative Alice and the rest of the group escapes through the sewers where the zombies enter the building. When Alice, Claire and Chris reach Arcadia ship, they saw the ship was fully functional but no person was there in that. As they explored the ship further, they find out that this a ship that lures the survivors of the T-virus to come in the ship so that they can have experiments on them. Claire remembers that she and the rest of the convoy was too attacked by umbrella men and taken into custody and a spider like device was attached to them but Claire managed to escape from there. As they moved further to explore the ship, Alice finds Wesker who is now too affected by T-virus and battling in for the control but couldn’t able to control the virus perfectly as Alice did. He wants to assimilate Alice to perfectly control the virus.

Claire and Chris too meet Wesker and all the three Alice, Claire and Chris starts fighting Wesker. Initially Wesker overpower all three of them but Alice defeated Wesker with the help of recovered K-Mart. Alice killed Bennett who now sided with Wesker. Wesker regenerates and tries to escape from their by boarding his plane and attempts to destroy the ship and the rest of the survivors by activating the bomb planted on the ship. As Alice anticipated his action, she planted the bomb which Wesker activated within the plane and that explodes. There was a bomb flash but after clearing smoke of bomb a parachute was seen flying in the sky. Luther on other side emerges from sewers as being shown that he has also escaped. Alice broadcasts a message for the survivors of the virus to come to Arcadia as it is a safe place and released rest of the survivors of T-virus who were being captured by Umbrella men before. A fleet of helicopters with heavily armed Umbrella troops approached Arcadia and revealed that Jill Valentine is leading that assault troop with the same spider like device attached to her chest as it was attached on Claire.

Review: In this sequel of movie, something was different than that of the some of the prequels of Resident Evil. Movie was a little precise and cut short which was good sign for the movie. Movie moves at a steady pace which also seems fine but what’s disappointing is the story part. Story seems to gone way too down for this part of the movie. It lacks originality and classiness of Resident Evil. It seems this movie lacks the core heart what Resident Evil is all about. The film seems to be made for action done by Milla Jovovvich and nothing else. No doubt performance of Milla Jovovich in this movie was also great as rest of the previous part. Some of the action sequences in the movie were good and so do was some of the special effects. So the 3D version of the movie was little affective and was good for the movie. As a whole, the movie is fair enough to watch which mainly contains some good action sequences by Milla Jovovich.

Resident Evil: Extinction

Synopsis: Alice (Milla Jovovich) wakes up in a shower room in the mansion. She dresses up and moves ahead. She survived the lasers of the Laser room as shown in first part of resident evil and managed to come in the hospital corridor and escapes from a giant blade from in the corridor. But she was killed by a rotating machine gun which came out suddenly in the middle of corridor. Her body is taken by research facility men and thrown in the pit where hundreds of Alice clones were already dumped. Camera zooms around the facility and shows that thousand of zombies have surrounded the facility which is protect by high and sturdy fence. Being taken all the measures to contain the virus and for cover up of Raccoon city destruction, the virus had spread around the world at a rapid pace. It has not only affected the human beings but also the animals and other living beings on earth and turned most of the places of the world as deserts and wastelands where T-Virus has come into contact. Alice now roams on her own free will and was travelling throw wastelands of Southwestern part of United States. She hears some voice in the radio asking for help. When Alice reached there, she came to know that they were just a gang of robbers and bandits who robs and steals from the survivors. They let Alice to fight some infected dogs present there but Alice beats those infected dogs and by some tricks let their own infected dogs killing them.

Dr. Issacs currently the head of the North American Umbrella facility thinks that recapturing of the Alice should be his top priority and she was the only one who has originally bonded with the T-virus without converting into to Zombie and tries to convince the Umbrella’s board of directors so he can use her blood which could be used in creating a cure for this T-Virus epidemic through a hologram. But umbrella’s present chairman Albert Wesker orders Isaacs to keep focusing on use of Alice clones and not to focus on recapturing of Alice until he informed him. Meanwhile, Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) with his convoy which includes Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr), LJ, along with some new survivors K-Mart, Mikey, Chase and others were wandering in different cities searching for supplies for her and rest of the convoy. While searching a Motel, LJ got bitten by a Zombie he didn’t tell anyone about that. Claire ordered his convoy to maintain a perimeter so that they could spend the night there. In the morning they were attacked by crows that were also infected by the virus might be they were feeding on infected animals. They killed some of convoy members and overpowered them with a flamethrower went out of control. When the infected crows were about to kill the convoy Alice came their and used her powers and a wave of fire thus killings most of the crows and saved Carlos and the rest of the convoy members. As Carlos knows Alice very well he introduced Alice to Claire. Alice told Claire that he has received a diary which tells that there is a place called Arcadia in Alaska which is free from T-virus and is a safe zone for living. Alice and Carlos tried to convince Claire to take the convoy members there. She agreed but to go Las Vegas to have supplies first which will them in reaching Arcadia. Dr, Isaacs wants to keep breading the new breed of zombies which he created. He has asked Wesker’s security officer to keep let him continue his work although he is disregarding Wesker’s order to him as it is essential for the finding the cure. White Queen the artificial intelligence of that facility informs that she had recently discovers the whereabouts of Alice by using triangulates position. Hearing this, Dr. Isaacs has sent a group of new breed of zombies to ambush the convoy including Alice even though Wesker had not given the orders for her pursuit.

When the convoy reached Las Vegas they were attacked by the zombies send by Dr. Isaacs. L.J. was succumbed injuries during the Zombies attacks and Carlos being bitten by one of the zombie in that ambush. During the ambush of the zombies most of the convoy members including Mikey,LJ and Chase. Umbrella forces to shutdown project Alice but she somehow breaks free from that and break that programming which controls project Alice and starts fighting again. She moves forward and finds the camp where Dr. Isaacs and others were operating but seeing Alice coming towards them Dr. Isaacs fled from there but got bitten from one of that new zombie breed and got infected and went back to the research facility to have antidote. K-Mart tracked through Isaacs’s computer the whereabouts of the facility and also the chopper so that they could fly to Arcadia. Alice and rest of the convoy see huge number of zombies surrounding the facility and finding a way to enter the facility. Carlos sacrifices himself and made way for convoy in entering in the facility. When they reached there she asked Claire to take the rest of the convoy to arcadia safely. She sees her clones being dumped in the bit and got angry and entered in the facility. Meanwhile, Isaacs takes huge dose of antidote disobeying Wesker’s orders. Slater the security officer of Umbrella facility came there and sees that Isaacs has taken the massive dosage of antivirus which were against Wesker’s orders and he is keeping taking that to stop mutation. Slater kills Isaacs on direct orders of Wesker but suddenly Isaacs being in mutated state kills Slater and rest of the security men present there. White Queen tells Alice that her blood is the cure for T-virus and she had to take down Isaacs and Alice agrees to that. Alice goes down the in the lower parts of lab, she finds a lot of her clones till in the development. Alice finds a replica of the same mansion as of the Hive. Isaacs came there and attacked Alice and during fighting they landed in the laser room. Lasers in that room killed Isaacs but it was stopped by one of the Alice clones from outside. Later, in Tokyo Umbrella facility Wesker was telling its members that North American facility is lost. At that very moment Alice appears through a hologram and telling them that she is coming to get them and also bring in some of his friends. Alice is watching hundred of the containers containing her clones that are in development state.  

Review: It’s the next sequel in the Resident Evil series and yes, it lived up to the expectation very well. Milla Jovovich as usual gives another great performance in this movie as well. In this sequel of the movie performances of the other crew was a little better than the prequel of the same. Some of the fighting sequences in the movie were great. But the story part seems to be a little sloppy and too predictable. Almost everyone who saw the movie can predict that what will happen next, thus the excitement and thrill of the movie goes way down. Zombies look the same and story is more or less predictable. The reason it did well is the performance of Milla Jovovich alone and some of the action sequences in the movie.

Synopsis: After some time when the T-virus broke out in the Raccoon city, Umbrella cooperation sends a team of their researchers to reopen the hive but they killed by the zombies and the lickers present there. Umbrella Corporation being worried that the virus will spread around very quickly, created a security perimeter around the city to quarantine it. Umbrella is secretly evacuating civilians from the city. Officer Jill Valentine meets her officer friend sergeant Peyton but at checkpoint of the citizen seems to affected from T-Virus so the Timothy Cain one of Umbrella’s men ordered his men to seal the gates and fire on the citizens to make them scared to go back to the city as Umbrella can’t afford that virus can get out of the city. Umbrella couldn’t able to take a girl named Angela Ashford out of the city as the car in which she was about to be taken meet with an accident who is daughter of Umbrella researcher Dr. Charles Ashford who is at level 6. Umbrella has taken out the important people from the city as the fear the city will soon be contaminated by the virus. Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr) and other soldiers teamed up with Special Tactics and Rescue Squad (STARS) to defend themselves against the gruesome group of zombies. Yuri a member of one of the soldiers who were defending against zombies will killed by zombies. He turned into a zombie and bit Carlos due to that Carlos and his team has to retreat from there. Jill, Peyton and a news reporter Terri Morales were hiding in a church which they later on came to know that full of Lickers. But they were saved by Alice at very last minute when they about to be killed by those Lickers. Umbrella on seeing some STARS offers alive their launched Nemesis program to kill those stars officers. He killed the 13 STARS officers as they were in his data feed a moderate threat but spares LJ when he drops his guns. Dr. Charles refused to get out of the city without his daughter Angela. Soon he came to know that she is hiding in school dormitory. By hacking and checking through CCTV’s he also came to know that there are survivors of T-Virus in the city and contacted them offering a deal that he will tell her the way to get out of the city but in return they had to get back his daughter alive to him which Alice accepted.

She tells the deal to Jill and others survivors with her. Firstly they were in agreement that they should wait for the back up to come but after Alice telling that there will not be any back and they try to nuke the whole city so as to quarantine the virus as it has been told by the doctor. They accepted the same went in search of his daughter. Peyton shows signs that he is affected by the virus too but Jill tells Alice that when the time comes she will kill him by herself. Soon Alice sees Nemesis and asks Jill and Terri to run and save their lives as he already killed Peyton. There was a small fight between her and Nemesis but Alice escapes him. Jill and Terri reached the school where Angela was hiding and also picked up LJ with them. Jill finds Angela takes her with him but when infected dogs attacked them they were killed by sergeant Nicholai but soon some infected dogs again came there and killed Nicholai but he hold the dogs till the time Jill and Angela escaped from there. Terri was killed by infected child but Carlos saved LJ from one of the zombies in school who tries to attack him. Again Jill and Angela were attacked by some infected dogs but Alice came to their rescue. LJ and Carlos also meet them there. Angela tells Alice and rest of the group that she had suffered from a genetic disease and due to which she could walk. So her father created T-virus which helps her to walk again but he also made Antivirus of it because he was also aware of the possible mutation of the Virus. Angela also tells them that Alice is also affected by T-virus but Alice tells them that the virus has bonded itself with her perfectly so she had not been converted to Zombie. Alice gives antivirus to Carlos as he is also bitten.    

Seeing Angela alive Dr. Ashford gives Alice the location of the last chopper that will going to take off before the whole city will be nuked. But Cain came to know about the plans of Dr. Ashford and held in as hostage. Alice and the rest of the group came to that rendezvous point but were cornered by Cain and his men. He asked Alice to fight with the Nemesis. She refused at first but seeing Doctor killed by Cain he starts fighting him. When she almost defeated nemesis, Cain ordered Alice to kill the nemesis but she didn’t. Nemesis that was originally Matt remembered that how was attacked by the Licker and how he gets mutated. He too starts killing umbrella’s men. Carlos and Jill freed themselves and too joined the fight. Nemesis saved Alice from a helicopter explosion nearby the fight and got himself killed. Carlos and Jill take Alice back to the last chopper that was going to fly. He Cain out of the helicopter and later on zombies arrived and killed him. Fighters send the bomb to nuke the whole city to contain the virus and soon it explodes. Chopper in which Alice and the rest of the survivors who were leaving the city also came into the contact of the nuke’s blast wave and the chopper got crashed. Soon Umbrella reached at the crash site and retrieved Alice body only as none of the others were found. At first, Terri’s media footage came to news that Umbrella has been responsible for all the death’s in the city and has released the Virus and the Zombies. Later, Umbrella launched a story that there was an explosion in the nuclear power plant near the city and successfully contains the original story of Terri. Meanwhile, both Carlos and Jill are wanted for questioning by the police. After some time, Alice wakes up in the research facility of Umbrella in Detroit. Dr. Isaacs starts asking her questions but Alice didn’t remember anything but soon she remembers everything and starts attacking Dr. Isaacs and rest of the men present there and makes her way out of that facility. Soon Jill, Carlos and Oliver came their and rescues her from the facility. Dr. Isaacs on the checkpoint ordered his men to let Alice and rest of them go and the program Alice is activated. Alice eyes suddenly show Umbrella’s logo.

  

Review: It is the sequel of the Resident Evil, so much was expected from the movie but it did reasonably well. The movie’s main focus was on and only Milla Jovovich and her performance and she did it with absolute brilliance once again as she did it in the previous part. Rest of the crew’s performance wasn’t much effective at all. The movie does contain some good action sequences but the movie was stretched way too long which was needed at all. Also the story which seems perfectly fine but somehow Director Witt was able to get it done perfectly when he brought in on screen from the performances of the cast and from his direction. At some point in the movie, some may lose interest in the story as it may come into the mind what is going on her. But as a whole it is a good movie with a good amount of action and thrill.

Resident Evil

Synopsis: Umbrella Corporation is one of the leading corporations of the world. But in secrecy they also make chemical weapons for biological warfare which the public don’t know in a place called Hive, a genetic research facility beneath the Raccoon City. A man steals a blue tinted capsule called the T-virus as well as the antidote in the green tinted capsule. He breaks one of the blue tinted capsules that is the T-Virus and runs from there. The virus breaks and spreads through vents. Emergency alarm goes on and to contain the virus so that it can’t be spread out of the hive, Artificial Intelligence of the Hive, the Red Queen seals the hive, releases a gas so that many of them knocked out and killed the rest of them. Alice (Milla Jovovich) wakes up in a mansion and has suffered from Amnesia. As she was trying to find anyone around, a group of SWAT commandos jumps into the mansion and arrests her and a man who later on tells them he is a local cop Matt Addison (Eric Mabius). The SWAT team explains Alice and Matt the whole situation that T-Virus has broke out in the hive and has spread violently. Red Queen activated the defense mechanism to contain the virus as much as possible and has released a gas that has caused Amnesia in the employees. Also that Alice is an employee of Umbrella Corporation and was working as a security personnel here.  They all board a train standing right underground the mansion which leads them to Hive. When the train starts moving, a SWAT commando tries to close the door of the compartment of the train and just then a man falls in that compartment also having lost his memory due to amnesia caused by the gas released by red queen earlier.

When they were about to reach Red Queen chamber, most of the SWAT commandos were locked in a room with laser defense mechanism resulting in killing all of them present in that room. Kaplan disabled that Laser mechanism but it had already killed all 4 of them present there. When they reached the Queen chamber, hologram of AI red queen tells them about the whole situation that what has happened here and warns them that if they disable red queen, they will be in deep trouble but Kaplan disabled her and that results in waking up of all the dead people in the form of Zombies. Those zombies who are actually the staff of Umbrella Corporation who had been dead starts attacking Alice and the remaining of SWAT group. J.D. one of the SWAT was killed by Zombies and Rain (Michelle Rodriguez) was bitten by them. Matt and Alice during the fight with the Zombies get separated. As Matt looks for her sister Lisa who works in Umbrella and Alice ended into a room full of Cages and encounters some infected dogs but she successfully defends herself from those infected dogs. Matt was attacked his sister who is now a Zombie but Alice came there and saves him from the Zombie. Matt tells Alice that her sister Lisa was going to give him some evidence about some illegal research by Umbrella Corporation here and she know someone here who about to give them to her but he himself doesn’t know who that person was. Alice told him that it was she that was the contact point of Lisa and she was the one who will help her gathering the evidence but at this point she don’t remember any further that what happened afterwards. All the remaining survivors meet at Red Queen’s chamber. To find a way out from the hive, Alice activated Red Queen that she is the only who knows a way out from here but Kaplan warns them that if Red Queen is activated again they had too break her circuit down to have her cooperation. They tried escape from the underground tunnels but very soon they were attacked by Zombies and now Kaplan is also separated from the group.

Alice remembers that there is an antidote to this virus and where that present. She takes Matt, Spence and Rain with them to that room but sees that the antidote is not present there. Spence on other hand also realizes that it was he who has stolen the virus as well as the antidote from there and was the one who has started this epidemic to take place and realizes that antidote was present in the train outside the Hive. Later on Alice also remembers that it was Spence who was with her on that night and he was the person who started all this. Spence asked Alice come with her as they could have billions through selling that antivirus in the black market but Alice refused. During the escape of the Spence he was bitten by one of the Zombies. Being trapped in the room, Alice asks red queen to tell them the way out but she laid a condition that the Rain that is the infected one has to be killed by Alice and only after that she will let them know the way out of here. Alice couldn’t kill Rain but soon Kaplan came there disable the queen and opened the room in which Alice and others were trapped. A licker tried to came out of room but they locked and moved towards the train where Alice killed the Zombie Spence and takes the antivirus with her. In train she injected antivirus to both Rain and Kaplan. Licker was hiding on the train and attacks them. The licker injured Matt with his claws thus infecting him and killed Kaplan. Meanwhile, Rain turns into a zombie and starts attacking both Alice and Matt but Alice shoot her in the head and kill her. Alice and Matt escapes through the Hive and containment door closes at that as they have get out of there in order to survive. Matt starts mutating when they reached the mansion and before Alice gives him antidote a group of Umbrella scientists came there take Matt with them for further research for the Nemesis program and took Alice with them. Alice resisted a bit but later on knocked out by Umbrella men. Later, Alice awakens in the Raccoon city hospital on an examination table with no memory what happened there after they were taken into custody and she was knocked out. She came out of the hospital and sees that whole town on abandoned. Also a news clipping shows “the dead walk” meaning that T-virus had reached the surface and has infected the people of the city. The final Shot is that Alice holds and pumps up a shotgun in the middle of the deserted street of Raccoon city.

Review: Based on capcom’s video game series Resident Evil, the people has high hopes from the movie that it would deliver the best as the resident evil game and yes the movie has delivered the best. The movie was based mostly on the performance and role of Milla Jovovich and she delivered her best what is expected of him that is absolute brilliance. The performance of Michelle and Eric were also up-to the mark. The creation of the zombies was also magnificent and so do was the music of the movie. Although at some point audience will feels that movie has some stretchy part which might have been avoided and also story moves a little slow but for a short period. The movie has some scary moments and also good action. Anderson has done a commendable job in remaking the Video game series of Resident Evil with proper attention giving to most of the character in the movie and got the best out of them and also with story line he followed in this just little bit stretchy parts and apart from that it’s a good action, a little of horror and science fiction movie.

Synopsis: A shadow of an old woman seen inside the house. Renai and Josh have moved into a new house with their three children. Renai with her son Dalton was looking at a family photo when Dalton asks that there is no picture of Josh during his childhood. Renai told him that Josh is camera shy and doesn’t want his photos to be taken. One evening, Dalton sees an attic and goes down to investigate it. When he was trying turn on the light of the attic, he falls from the ladder towards the floor. During that he sees something horrifying. Renai and Josh take Dalton back to the bed and told him not to play again in attic. Dalton doesn’t wake up the next and was taken immediately to the hospital where doctors told them that Dalton is in Coma. After 3 months, Dalton is taken back to home as he is still in coma. Soon some disturbing events started to happen. Renai hears a voice on baby monitor shouting “I want it now” and also a blood hand print on Dalton’s bed and a stranger man in her daughter’s bedroom. Another incident when her youngest son tells her that he doesn’t like when Dalton walks around in night. Renai gets very depressed told these events to her husband Josh and told him to please move to another house and they moved. But the Strange events continued to happen in the new house. Lorraine, Josh’s mother tells that she also had a strange dream where she was in Dalton’s room and some strange person who was standing next to him. She asked what does he wants and in reply to that he wants Dalton. She saw red faced figure standing next to Josh to which she got scared. Lorraine immediately called her friend Elise Reiner who specializes in paranormal activity investigation. She and his team on initial investigation and draw a figure of black body, red face and hollow eyes sitting on the Dalton room’s ceiling.

Elise explains then that Dalton has the ability of astral projection while sleeping and he has been doing this quite often. His physical body is here but his spiritual body is not here and has been travelling to another spiritual world called The Further” a place of tormented dead souls and this is the reason why he is in coma. These tormented dead souls carving their way in this world through Dalton’s body and the most dangerous intent is having their way in by that demon black body, red faced figure and the old dangerous woman. But for spirit to consume a body it takes time and a lot of energy. Josh at first instance didn’t believe in all that but seeing pictures in Dalton’s house same as Elise description he accepts this fact. They run a session where they tried to talk to Dalton but later on, dead souls who want to take over Dalton’s body fights Josh, Renai, Elise and her assistants using Dalton’s body. Elise called Lorraine and she explained that Dalton has this ability because Josh too possessed that ability during his childhood as he was too terrorized by an evil old woman spirit and only he is the person who can bring Dalton back. Josh agrees to that.

To prepare for astral projection and to find Dalton, Elise made Josh sit on the chair and places him a trance. He suddenly wakes up and finds that he is in a different world as he astral projected as his physical body remains on chair but his spiritual body is moving. As he proceeds further to find Dalton he sees a boy pointing him towards a house He encounters a family who is shot by a dangerous woman member of the family in the living room. Josh make his way further and he sees a red door as he sees in the Dalton’s picture. But before opening the door he is encountered by an aggressive man as seen by Renai before. He defeated that man and enters that red door. When he enters that door he sees a balcony with red light and full of burning candles and a little bit further he sees Dalton being chained. He freed Dalton but the Black body red faced demon attacked them but both of them ran away from there in search of their real bodies while demon was still in pursuit of them. Just as they move further he told Dalton to move as he sees old woman and confronts her. He screams at her that he is know not afraid of him anymore and later that shadow of the old women goes into the darkness and Josh and Dalton suddenly wakes up in the real world and the evil spirits disappear. Whole family reunited and was happy. Josh hands Elise the pictures of his childhood and asks her to destroy them as they isn’t scared of it anymore but at the time of taking pictures he takes those pictures and put them in his bag. She takes a picture of Josh to confirm something but Josh goes to rage and aggressive and strangling her to death. Renai hears yelling sound from the room and goes to check the room. She sees that Elise is dead and Josh is gone. She shouts for Josh but wasn’t able to find him. She suddenly sees the camera dropped nearby her and got scared and shocked. In a little flashback it was revealed that Elise see that the same old woman who had been present in the Josh’s childhood snaps that terrorize her now had taken over Josh’s body as she possessed him. Josh then puts his hand on the Renai arm saying “Renai. I am here” and she got scared and horrified as she looks back towards him.   

Review: One of the very good movies made by James Wan. What’s very good about the movie or I should say one of the features of James Wan is that he will make you feel thrilled and horrified without splitting blood and without some horrified faces. How the creaking or banging doors, groaning floor voices and the horrifying and terrified scenes make you thrilled with full of surprises. Most actors performed their roles in the movie very well. It was a little disappointment in the end as the standards or high levels which it sets in the first half, couldn’t maintain the same in the second half. Story of the movie which looks very astonishing in the first half, goes way down in the second one. Also the ending could have been a little better but the movie is very good as a whole with full of scary scenes and whole lot of horrifying and terrifying moments.

Silent Hill : Revelations 3D

Synopsis: Heather Mason (Adelaide Clemens) and her father Harry Mason (Sean Bean) have been moving from town to town in awe that to keep them out of danger. She believes that her father has killed a man in the self defense that is why they are on the run. Her mother has died in a car accident. In realty, Harry was protecting Heather from a cult of Silent hill. Rose, Heather’s mother has freed Sharon (which is Heather now) by using one of Amulet called Seal of Metatron but remained herself trapped in Silent Hill. In school, Heather meets a guy as his classmate named Vincent Cooper (Kit Harington) but she again started haunted by Silent hill hallucinations. Private investigators called Douglas Cartland meet her and said that she knew her. Heather calls her dad and told her that a stranger is following her and he told her stay away and he is coming to meet her at Happy Burgers. At that time door bell rings and Harry put is phone down was taken by the Order, silent hill cult. Heather enters into the mall waiting for her father but it was mall of another dimension. She was seeing some scary and weird hallucinations and she very terrified. At that time that private investigator came and told her that his name is Douglas Cartland and he is being hired by the Order of Valitel to find her. He also tells her that her mother hasn’t died but she is imprisoned in the Silent Hill and now they want you. He helps Heather in escaping from the monster but in doing that Douglas died. When Heather comes in real world after escape from the otherworld mall, she meets Vincent again. Vincent asks her what had happened inside. Vincent goes with her to Heather’s home. When they entered home, heather couldn’t find her father. On the wall there was message written “come to silent hill”. Heather sees symbol on the wall and tells Vincent that they had to go to silent hill. Police knocked on the door but they ran from behind. When they were travelling at night they decided to stay at a motel. Vincent tells Heather that he the son of the Order’s leader called Claudia Wolf (Carrie Ann Moss) to keep a track of her. He tells her that she is a part of Alessa Gillespie who was burnt alive 38 years ago by the Order and now Claudia is eager wants her back. Vincent tells her that to free Order and her father, she has to get other half of the Seal of Metatron which is there with Leonard wolf, Vincent father and he is kept in an asylum. Darkness was spreading in that motel room, a monster came and taken Vincent back but did nothing to Heather. When she reached Silent Hill, she meets Dahlia where Dahlia told Heather that she should leave or she would be used and will be burnt. Heather told her that she is Alessa’s mother and the people get what they deserved and as the bells starts ringing and everything was covered with darkness she runs from there. Heather finds Leonard and finds that when both halves of the Amulet will be fused, Seal of Metatron will reveal the true nature of things. Leonard converts into a monster and knock Heather down. When she woke up both of them had a little fight where Heather takes the Seal of Metatron from Leonard and he died there. She saw Vincent being taken somewhere as she was hiding from Pyramid Head. She saves Vincent and they go to Lakeside Amusement park where Vincent decided to make way for Heather to go and takes Claudia’s men with him. Heather confronts dark Alessa who said that she will make us complete but Heather as being the innocence and good part turned as a whole with Dark Alessa in it. Heather then confronts Claudia who had her dad and Vincent as her hostage. Claudia tells Heather that Harry’s blood will be used to feed the new god and that will be born from Heather’s body. Heather gives Seal of Metatron to Claudia and wants to know her truth. Claudia turns herself into a monster and tried to kill Heather. Pyramid Head came to rescue and fights with the Claudia turned Monster and in the end kills it. Heather escapes with Harry and Vincent. When they about to leave, Harry tell Heather that she is proud of her and always wanted to stay away from danger due to her. But he cannot leave Silent Hill as he has to save Rose his wife. He said that you did your task and now he has to do his. With this Harry goes back to Silent Hill. Both Vincent and Heather walks on road when the meet a lorry and asks him to take with him as a lift. The Lorry Driver introduces himself as Travis Grady and they leave Silent Hill. Some police cars following by a Prison Transport were seen entering the Silent hill.

Review: As next part of Silent Hill, there were many expectations from the movie but it doesn’t rose to that expectations. Story of the movie was almost the same as Silent Hill 3 play station game. It lacks creativity. The movie doesn’t have any scary scenes at all. The one thing that looks in this movie is that they tried to make the movie like the previous part of Silent Hill but in that context they didn’t worked on their strengths how to en-cash the name Silent Hill. Story was a bit loose and you might what is going on here. Previous part of Silent hill was better than this one. Only thing positive in the movie was the performance of Adelaide Clemens. Her acting was a good. Half star to Adelaide Clemens performance. As a whole it is an average movie.

Synopsis: Rose DaSilva (Radha Mitchell) and her husband Christopher Da Silva (Sean Bean) were looking for their daughter Sharon (Jodelle Ferland) in the middle of the night. Rose saw Sharon was in Night sleep walk and was about to jump in the cliff. Rose in time manages to reach to her daughter before she jumps, grabs her and the moment Rose caught Sharon, she was screaming “Silent hill, Silent hill”. Christopher came in the time tell both Rose and Sharon that they should go home. Two years later, both Sharon and Rose were playing near the tree. Rose tells Sharon about her sleep walk and told her about how she were screaming Silent Hill but Sharon tells that she doesn’t remember anything. Both Rose and Sharon leave for Silent hill so that Rose should get some answers. Meanwhile Christopher was trying to contact his wife but she was not picking up the phone. As Rose was crossed the bridge near the silent hill, She saw a girl in the middle of the road, a car crash happens and when Rose awakes she saw Sharon was not there. Rose was wandering in the streets of Silent Hill where snow of black ash was falling. She meets a woman named Dahlia Gillespie who speaks of Alessa her daughter being abused by the people of the town and when Dahlia sees the photo of Sharon on rose locket claims that Sharon is her Alessa. When Rose went back to his car, an inspector called Cybil arrests her. As she tried take her back she found that the road from which she is being cut, so they have gone back to Silent Hill. On the way back they both meet a monster looks like human sort of.Christopher on other hand goes for his wife and daughter search but he sees the town as abandoned but not with any black ash with assistance of Police officer Gucci.

On further investigation Christopher found a document which tells that Silent Hill was abandoned 30 years ago after a fire along with the Snap of Dahlia’s daughter with almost same resemblance as Sharon. He was to stop investigation by the Police officer otherwise he will send to prison, so Christopher returned home. Rose and Cybil were lead to go a church as all the surrounding were turning into dark, by a woman named Anna but on the verge of entry into the church Anna was killed. In the church Rose and Cybil meet a woman named Christabella (Alice Krige) who has the head of a Cult. Rose asked her about what’s going on here in which she told them that this is the doing of a demon which also knows the whereabouts of her daughter. As convinced Rose and Cybil were taken to the hospital. When they were in the hospital Christabella sees the photo of Sharon in Rose’s locket and sees the resemblance of Sharon and Alessa, condemns them as witches. Cybil fights with the Christabella men and helped Rose to escape. In the Hospital Basement she saw burned Alessa on bed and Incarnation of dark side of Alessa. She tells her that it was she that wants to lead her to here to meet them and told her about the story of Alessa and what happened in Silent Hill. Silent Hill has a long history of burning witches which was a belief of a cult. Alessa being not known who her father is, she was bullied by her school mates and was made fun of her.No adult tried to protect her too. Chirstabella convinced Dahlia that she should allow the cult to restore her innocence through the ritual but when she was taken to the ritual, Christabella didn’t allow Dahlia to follow Alessa. There she realized that they were going to sacrifice her daughter so Dahlia ran to the police station for help.                

When Alessa are going through the ritual in which she was burnt an accident happened and fire broke out. When Dahlia came with the police she was badly burnt but she was still alive. Alessa was taken to the hospital where Alessa being in rage and agony incarnated her dark side to take her revenge. Dark Alessa also tells rose that Sharon is the innocence and good side of Alessa which remained there at that time. Dark Alessa asks her help to take her revenge from them. She told Rose that she should help her to get the entry in the church with her as their blind conviction repels her to make entry in the church alone. Rose went to church. She saw that Cybil was burnt alive in there and now was the turn of Sharon. Rose confronted Christabella and told the cult about the truth. Christabella stabs Rose and due to which blood starts dripping. Rose serves are the way for Alessa to make entry. Alessa rise out of it and same as for Dark Alessa. Alessa caught Christabella, through barb wires which went through under her skirt and came out through her heart killing Chirstabella. As the only survivors remaining were Dahlia, Rose and Sharon. When Rose and Sharon were going back they found that the big gap in the road has gone and the leave silent hill. Christopher was sleeping on the couch in the home. He woke up and opens the door as it looks like Rose and Sharon has come back but no one was there. Sharon and Rose do came the same home but they came home in version of Silent hill which was different but Christopher was seeing it the real world thinking that Rose and Sharon are still trapped there in Silent Hill.

Review: It’s basically based on the video game called Silent hill. As Silent hill game is regarded as one of the best horror games so expectations from the movie was also high. The story of the movie is good as it’s the same as the game. Story could have been given a more creativity. Some of the scenes were unnecessary and was stretched. Acting of Radha Mitchell was good. Must admit some of the scenes were very scary indeed. Direction and the graphics of the movie are also good. People who have played silent hill game can understand the movie what it is all about very well but who hasn’t played may feel that some scenarios in the movie are added but not needed. As a whole the Movie is good to watch.
