Name: Shootout at Lokhandwala

Synopsis: Brooms were used to clear the area around the Swati building and TVN reporter Meeta Mattu was reporting that a large police squad with heavy ammunition was used around a peaceful residential area of Swati building in Lokhandwala. In the office of Ex-chief Justice and now a private advocate Dhingra is having discussions with the three officers of Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) on whom Human rights commission is massive angry and launched a heavy protest against them. These officers are additional commissioner of police Shamsher Khan (Sanjay Dutt), Inspector Kaviraj Patil (Sunil Shetty) and inspector Javed Shiekh (Arbaaz Khan). As Dhingra is having discussions asking questions from them, the movie went into flashback.

Shamsher Khan told Dhingra about how the ATS was formed as to counter modern day terrorism he got the idea from SWAT and form ATS from the best candidates from police including Kaviraj and Javed. There only motive was shoot to kill as modern day terrorist are growing more and more and trouble for public. He also tells how some people from Punjab after blue star operation came to Bombay in Sikh dominated areas and he did his best try to clear them out. Then he tells him about a man recently turned into gangster named Maya (Vivek Oberoi) and how he stars killing people and instigating fear in the minds of people and big businessmen in the city and that’s how he come under scanner of Dawood Ibrahim. He stars recruiting the best shooters in the city. Now at this point Maya and his men are on top of Bombay/Mumbai and reporting directly to Dawood in Dubai.

Khan and his men of ATS are focusing of eliminating Maya and his men in the city. A game of cat and mouse stars when Shamsher Khan and men kill some of Maya’s men and Maya on other side kills some of big businessmen and local people and even the police personnel many times. Shamsher Khan and his ATS men try to put pressure of relatives and families of Maya and his men to get them out but it too went wrong because Maya and his men do came out but at wrong time giving serious warning to Khan, Kaviraj and Javed to stay away from their families otherwise their families will to not be safe at all. Maya asks a builder named Wadhwani to give him ransom as protection money for his life to be safe but Wadhwani bluntly replied to him that he has direct connections to his boss in Dubai and he is nothing to him and he shouldn’t call him again or he will face dire consequences. As Maya was mad and in rage send his men to Wadhwani’s office and to comply to his demands or he will face consequences. Maya’s men took some token money from their and demanded the rest of money to be delivered to him within no time.

Wadhwani gave half the amount asked by Maya as told by Dawood but Maya asks Wadhwani to bring the rest of the money and take away his son and till that his son will remain with them. Fearing that, Wadhwani called Dawood and told the whole story and requested him to talk to Maya to release his only son. Dawood called Maya what is doing and he should release Wadhwani’s son immediately but Maya refused in doing that saying “its mine men pride and he can’t back off now at any cost to rule on Mumbai”.

Now comes the day on which this shootout took place. Shamsher Khan told him that one of his informers told him that Maya and his men are hiding in a flat of Swati building in Lokhandwala. Shamsher Khan with his ATS men with full ammunition and armory went to Swati building. Maya and his men were still holding Wadhwani’s son as hostage. One of Maya’s men who was outside the Swati building came to know that Police is surrounding the area around Swati building and looking for all of them with an intent to kill. Maya seeing that came to understand that too this time for sure something bloody will happen. ACP Shamsher Khan to reached the area and was soon welcomed by a RPG fired by Maya’s men but Khan survived. Soon the gun battle starts. People were warned to get out of the building quickly. Policemen stars going inside the building with full force. Empty bullet shells were everywhere. Soon all of them including Maya were killed by police in the shootout. Reporter Meeta Mattu covers this entire gunbattle between police and Maya and his men.

In the end, Dhingra in courts starts with the conventional defense for the officers of ATS including Shamsher Khan who were involved in this Shootout or gun battle. Khan and his men were released from the charges instigated on them by court.

Review: As based on original events from the rumors of the Shootout that took place at Lokhanwadala, the movie was beautifully crafted and made. Direction of Approva was good as he tried to put the whole shooting part into a well made action scenario with ease. Performance of Vivek Oberoi was great but for Sanjay Dutt it wasn’t that much effective as it should have been. Rest of cast performance were good and up to the mark. Music of the movie was average although some parts of the movie was being stretched unnecessary which could have been avoided. Sometimes it is also felt that went off track many times. But was great part of the movie was the climax. It’s great as how the gun battle sequences’ are being shot and the music related to it was just great. Overall it is a good movie to watch with a good amount of action and a decent amount of Entertainment.

Agneepath

Name: Agneepath (1990)

Synopsis: Deenanath Chauhan is a school master in village Mandwa who has high moral grounds and is an honest man. His was teaching his son a poem named “Agneepath” the path of fire which everyone has to cross in his life. Deenanath is well loved and respected by the villagers. He wants that everyone including the child should be educated in the village and no one should be included in the bad deeds. But the Village headman doesn’t share the same opinion as he does. One day which playing with his friends and he saw a man named Kancha Cheena (Danny Denzongpa) arrives in the village meeting Village headman Dinkar Rao. He came to know that Kancha wants to make the village Mandwa into a drug trade centre as the village in not on the map of India and it will easier for him to do so. But he has to take down teacher Deenanath as he is the one who is causing hindrance in his plans. Dinkar Rao made a setup for Deenanath. With the help of the owner of the brothel he sets up Deenath and villagers seeing this beats teacher Denanath to death. His wife and both the child after so much humiliation went to Mumbai to start a new life.

He starts working on odd jobs for making his family living and as he grows old he came across the various harsh realities of life. One day when someone starts forcing with his mother his burns down his petrol pump. His bail is being given by four local goons who later on indulge him with themselves. Now Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) has grown old and now he is a gangster with class, style and most of things he has values for the poor people. One day when he refused to indulge with the drugs business of those four of his bosses, they tried to kill him. But a man named Krishnan (Mithun Chakraborty) saved him. When Vijay was recovering from hospital he secretly killed 2 of them. But as now Vijay is a gangster he was not liked by his mother and his sister doesn’t know much about him.

Later he tries to strike a deal with Kancha to let him enter in Mandwa so that both of them can do business. Kancha agrees to that but warns him that if he ever tries to cut his way, he will not spare him and in return for their partnership he gives him his 3^rd boss. Vijay on his wife advice slowly starts taking down Kancha by taking out his men one by one and gathering proofs against Kancha and later on helped police in taking down Kancha. Kancha was arrested. Meanwhile the last of the 4 bosses kidnaps Vijay’s sister. Krishnan with his last breath effort too was there with Vijay’s daughter to save him from his last boss and the fighting starts began between both of them. Vijay hearing this news and seeing that police also is not able to enter the place where his sister is being taken went in with his men with full force and eventually saved his sister, Krishnan and killed his last boss.

In a festival, Kancha’s men tries to kill Vijay but Krishnan came in between and he got badly hurt. Vijay took him to hospital and saw that his most faithful men is being shot dead as well as the only living proof/witness to be produced against Vijay is also killed by Kancha. Commissioner told Vijay that his mother, sister and wife as well as his child is being taken hostage by Kancha but he will do everything in his power to save him. Finally Vijay went to Mandwa village by himself. Kancha had made the traps for him in advance. Being torn out and bad shape, Vijay finally confronts Kancha. Houses were exploded and whole of the path was filled with fire. Kancha challenges Vijay to come across and if he dares saves his mother, his wife, his sister and his son. Krishnan too arrives there and starts shooting at Kancha’s men. Vijay starts running towards Kancha from that path of fire. Instead of being shot twice he fights with Kancha and eventually kills him. Now Vijay as being not being able to move as he is already shot twice too passes away across his mother saying “Agneepath” in an emotional context. In the end his mother was saying “My son is not a Gangster.”

Review: It is always said, some movies are just made great and this is one of them. Everything fits in its rightful place. Direction of Mukul S. Anand was just awesome. The way he has directed the movie was just great. Some performances are ever green and Amitabh Bachchan’s performance is one of them in this movie. His character in this movie lived alive. And in no way credit can be taken away from the Danny Denzongpa which is absolutely brilliance and with class. In this movie the hero and villain how they actually should be looked in the movie looks that way. Music of the movie just mind blowing suits to the context of the movie appropriately. Dialogues of the movie were great and rest of cast performance is also very good. A great movie is one where all the segments of the movie fit to its rightful place and everyone plays its part with equal importance. This movie has it all. People say Old is Gold. This had it.

Ghajini

Name: Ghajini

Synopsis: Sunita (Jiah Khan) is a college going medical student who is researching for a projecting on human brains in her class. Suddenly he came across a case of Sanjay Singhania (Aamir Khan). Seeing this case she became curious to take up the case but was rejected by the teacher because it is a case of criminal investigation. She asked about the case by her teacher and came to know that Sanjay has a disease called anterograde amnesia. Sunita decides to investigate things by herself. She came to know Sanjay loses his memory within 15 mintues and doesn’t remember anything after that. He uses photographs, notes and tattoos on his body to remember things and his only mission is to avenge the death of his lover Kalpana (Asin).  He starts killing people in a systematic manner to reach to his final target Ghajini whom he remembers his lover Kalpana’s last words. Ghajini (Pradeep Rawat) is a reputed industrialist of the city.

Police inspector named Arjun who was investigating the case of these murders tried to track down Sanjay and finally finds him and knocked him unconscious. He discovered two diaries from Sanjay’s home and finally in those diaries it was his past. Movie went in the flashback where Sanjay was the chairman of Air voice mobile company. He after a certain events came across a girl name Kalpana who is working in a small advertisement agency. First she used Sanjay name just for fun with her seeing that she will be given more importance by her advertisement agency but Sanjay after seeing her innocence and honesty doesn’t say anything to him and meets her with a new name called Sachin and later on falls in love with her. At the New Years Eve he proposed to Kalpana and Kalpana asks Sachin to wait for her reply next morning and the first diary ends there. Soon Sanjay woke up and and Arjun asks him that what happened the next day. Sanjay attacks him and ties in the cabinet. Sunita arrives there and sees that the door was open and went in there. Rescues the inspector but soon sees Sanjay there went out of there. Sunita in that hurry has taken both the diaries of Sanjay from his flat.

Sunita came to know that Sanjay will kill Ghajini and went to Ghajini and warns him that Sanjay is the man is trying to kill him. Ghajini also came to remember about Sanjay Singhania. Ghajini and his men went into Sanjay flats and destroyed all maps, snaps and notes in that flat so that he should not be able to recover his memory of killing him at all. At night, Sunita starts reading Sanjay’s second diary. She came to know that Kalpana has accepted Sanjay’s love proposal. Sanjay due to some emergency meeting has to go abroad so he tells Kalpana as Sachin a different story. Kalpana too has to go on an assignment but when she was travelling in train she find 25 children were trafficking and saved them and finds that Ghajini is the master. Ghajini came to know about this broke into Kalpana’s home. Kalpana too came to know about this that Ghajini and his men will try to kill her. Suddenly Sanjay too came there but Kalpana asks him to go from there. Later Ghajini hurts Kalpana very badly. Sanjay too came back to see Kalpana as he believes something is wrong. Ghajini hits Sanjay on his head very badly with an iron Rod and in his presence kills Kalpana by hitting her with iron rod again and again. Kalpana during her dying moments said “Ghajini” in Sanjay’s ears.

Now Sunita has been aware of truth of Sanjay went to the hospital where he was kept and told whole story to him. Being in rage after listening to Sunita asks Sunita to help him in tracking down Ghajini and rest he will take care himself. Both of them tracked Ghajini and Sanjay starts fighting Ghajini’s henchmen with full force and full strength. When he was able to pin Ghajini down he suddenly forgets his memory and forgets who Ghajini is. Seeing this as an opportunity he stabs Sanjay from behind. Later he hits Sunita with iron rod and taunts Sanjay that he will make him re-experience Kalpana’s death again by killing Sunita. Sanjay overpowers everything his pain, memory and takes down Ghajini and in the kills him the very same way he killed Kalpana.

In the end, Sanjay was in an Orphanage where Sunita came their giving him a gift and footprints of Sanjay and Kalpana to make their bonding again. Sanjay sees Kalpana at his side and Finally Sanjay finds peace.

Review: A good remake made by A.R.Murugadoss of his own Tamil movie of the same name Ghajini. Most of the remakes of the movies are not that much effective and good this time it’s an altogether a different story. Performance of Aamir khan was all together at a different level. Asin making Bollywood debut makes it with ease and comfort. Performance of Jiah Khan and Pradeep Rawat were also good. Music and songs of the movie were great and so can be said for some of the action sequences. Most of the movie was almost the same as Tamil remake of Ghajini whom Murugadoss has directed previously so in this he hasn’t made any new creativity. Also the core idea has been taken from English movie Memento. As a whole, movie is very good to watch full of entertainment, thriller with a mind blowing performance of Aamir Khan and Asin.

Stars given: 3.5 out of 5.

Ghayal (1990)

Name: Ghayal

Cast: Sunny Deol, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Amrish Puri, Om Puri, Rajkumar Santoshi (Director)

Synopsis: Ajay Mehra (Sunny Deol) lives with his brother Ashok Mehra and his sister in law Indu in Bombay (now Mumbai). He is an amateur boxer who is in love with a girl named Varsha (Meenakshi Sheshadri). Ashok is a businessman who is facing problems regarding his business but he tells some of his problems with his wife but doesn’t share anything with his brother. His brother is on a boxing training camp at Banglore. Ashok when utmost frustrated talks to his brother but when he was about tell the problem phone got cut. When he came back, he came to that his brother is missing. He tries to inquire about the same but all in vain. He went to police for complaint but nothing was happening. He even went to Balawant Rai’s PA for asking about his brother but everyone was giving vague answers. All this leads to utter frustration. Later he came across to a drunkard who promises to reveals secrets about his brother if he gave him money and he revealed the secret. He told Ajay that he know his brother. He suffered some losses in business and Balwant Rai (Amrish Puri) came to his rescue and cleared all his debts. In lieu of that he became his partner and started illegal businesses under this partnership and this is his way of doing illegal activities framing honest men and Ashok was in tension due to this reason. He tries to stop Balwant Rai but all in vain but Balwant Rai threatens him with grave consequences if he do so. He said that he had collected evidences against Balwant Rai and if he has not given the evidence to Balwant Rai then he might be alive but if he had give them then he probably might be dead. Hearing this Ajay straight went to Balwant Rai and asked him to return his brother otherwise he will not spare him.

Later Balwant Rai called Ajay and told him to save his brother if he can. Ajay reached to the spot where Balwant called him to arrive and found that his brother is dead. Later police came there and arrest Ajay. They framed Ajay in killing of his own brother as he had illicit relationship with his sister-in-law. Ajay was sent to jail and his sister in law couldn’t bear this trauma and commits suicide. Ajay after telling his whole story to his companions become friends and they told him that they will help Ajay in his revenge. After forming a plot for escape all of them escaped from the Jail. One by one he started killing all the people who had framed him in that murder charge. Balwant Rai also came to know that Ajay had escaped has well. Commissioner of police also came to know about some people has escaped from jail but when he sees their snaps he remember that one of them is Ajay who had came to him as well for help for looking for his brother but he didn’t helped him as well. Police started looking and killing for Ajay and his men and Ajay was killing those who framed him in wrong murder charges. When only Balwant Rai was left alive, Ajay told him that he will kill him in next 24 hours. Being in frustration Balwant Rai came to know that Varsha is Ajay’s girlfriend and Kidnaps her. Ajay in rage went to Balwant Rai’s area and completely destroys that. Meanwhile police officer who is in charge of this case came to know it not the Ajay who is wrong but is the Balwant Rai and the wrong system due to which Ajay has taken this route as Balwant Rai’s PA has given a written statement for the same and asks commissioner why has this happened. Commissioner promises him that he will take action against Balwant Rai and bring him to court but first he has to stop Ajay to kill Balwant Rai so that crime can’t be commited.

On other side, Ajay was following Balwant Rai’s with full force and they they started fighting in an Amusement park. Police arrived there and stopped Ajay killing Balwant Rai but Ajay being assisted by Varsha, finally kills Balwant Rai. In the end, Ajay went out of that amusement park where people were clapping for him.

Review: One of the great movies made by Rajkumar Santoshi. Absolutely brilliant. Direction was awesome. Performances of Sunny Deol and Amrish Puri were at level best. It’s like is just made alive every time anyone will see it. It moved with a great pace and all the time movie remained focused on its core story and didn’t went off track even at once. Cinematography was good and so were dialogues. Performances of other cast like Meenashi Sheshadri, Om Puri, Raj Babbar etc were also good and fully focused to movie core story. It’s a movie with jam packed action and full of entertainment and is a must watch for everyone and specially for those who is a diehard fan of Sunny Deol.

Madras Cafe

Name: Madras Cafe

Synopsis: A group of armed men stopped a bus and killed all the people travelling in that. A man just woke up just from sleep in a room in Kasauli. He then goes to church in the drunken state and talks to the father of that church. Father asks him that if he wants to say something then tell him all to which he started to tell the whole story about his past. He tells that he was there when the civil war in Sri Lanka was at its darkest phase as the war going on between a major group and minority group of Tamils. He tells how a group named LTF is formed under the leadership of Anna Bhaskaran who stood against the Sri Lankan forces for rights of Tamil’s and this led to start of war and Violence. Indian PM seeing this dangerous civil war wants to intervene and signs a peace accord and during the provincial council election to go peacefully wants to send a peace force in that area but Anna refused to accept this peace accord. Peace force tried capture Anna but Anna escaped as he already know their plan of action and war starts between Anna’s LTF and peace force. To make the provincial council elections a success India sends Major Vikram Singh (John Abraham) of Indian Army for a special covert operation in Jaffna by Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) India’s special Intelligence Agency to make the provincial council elections in Sri Lanka a success. On his way to enter Jaffna, he meets Jaya Shani (Nargis Fakhri) a reporter who was writing a peace column of refuges of the civil war in Sri Lanka.  Vikram meets Bala Krishnan as told by Vikram Superiors in Indian camp at Jaffna. Bala gives him briefing about how weak Anna and makes him surrender which will lessen its hold their. Vikram with a clue meets Sri of TPA who once was with Anna. He tells Sri that India recognizes his TPA and wants him to Counter LTF to which Sri asks him that he needs heavy arms for the same and Vikram accepted it. Jaya interviews Anna and came to know that he is in contact with some foreign alliances.

On the day of the arms deal to took place to Sri as promised by Vikram, on port arms do landed but somehow it was not given to Sri but send to Anna and when Vikram see something fishy in the deal on the port, he checked but were fired heavily from Anna’s men on other side and Vikram lost of his men. Bala was very angry with Vikram’s action and when Vikram told him that there is some leak in the process of deal, Bala told him to go Colombo and remain there till he is not called back. Vikram tries to investigate on how the deal leaked and got a clue from Jaya Sahni. He soon was abducted by LTF but soon a task force was send by India to get him out of LTF’s custody and they recovered him from them. Vikram’s boss meet him at Colombo where he told him that there was a leak among us and asks his permission to meet Mallaya to make him on his side. Mallaya meets Robin Dutt (RD) head of RAW as told by Vikram. RD told him that peace forces will eventually take down Anna at some point sooner or later but what after that. It is necessary to have peaceful elections in the island and he wants to get rights of Tamils, Anna has to be taken down. Peace force was sent to take down Anna while Vikram was sent to Kerala Base and ordered to stay there. After the attack in media it came down to everyone news that Anna was killed and Mallaya has taken over LTF. But Anna was alive as he managed to escape during the peace force attack on him.  Anna sees this become more ferocious and aggressive and killed both and Mallaya and Sri. Hearing the news of Anna is still alive, Prime Minister of India resigned and new government brought back the peace force. After sometime Madras desk of Intelligence coded some intercepts. SP an employee of madras desk gave these intercepts to Bala Krishnan the head of the base and showed concerns of the intercepts but Bala show much seriousness as shown by SP. Soon SP took some files and intercepts and disappeared from that base to much Bala got scared. SP asked Vikram that he had some confidential information that can be shared only with meeting him personally and Vikram agreed.

When Vikram came back after meeting with SP, he sees his wife is being shot and eventually he died. RD condolences with Vikram and asks him to stay focus on the mission. Vikram tracked Basu (Bala junior officer) and asked her what he knows about Bala and his plans. He told Vikram that everything he knows like, he was following orders, Bala talked to guy named Reed about the intercepts and many other things especially Bala was the one who ordered him that Vikram and SP should be killed. Vikram asks Jaya for help from his sources to have evidence as he to nab the leak down. In Bangkok, Vikram meets her source and he tells him each and every detail that who meet whom, where the meeting took place, who are persons involved and what might be the consequences of this meeting may be.That Source also give evidence that Bala was honey trapped to submit to deals of foreigners. Meanwhile, intercepts send by Vikram to RD has been decoded and LTF is going to assassinate the Ex-PM of India. Bala came to know that his cover is blown and shot himself. Vikram and his team with full force start the operation to stop this assassination. He came to know from investigation that there are 6 teams for different cities each comprises of at max 5 members. Also came to know there is a person name Kanda who is the local who is link to Anna and helped the LTF members to come at Madras and help them with their needs and assistance for the mission. Vikram and his team were moving in closer to track the LTF members and a free lancer bomb maker who told them that he had made plastic bomb that can’t be detected with metal detectors. Ex-PM arrives for a rally’s in South and Vikram told that LTF members will strike at 10:00 PM rally. RD tells Ex-PM that there is threat to his security so that he should cancel his today’s meetings but Ex-PM didn’t bother much and moved with his schedule. When he was going on the stage to address the people for the rally a woman was shouting to garland the him and he said yes. The moment she put garland on Ex-PM around him, she triggered the bomb and explosion took place resulting in killing of Ex-PM and many other present there. Vikram to got injured but couldn,t save him. India as well other nation went in deep shock as Ex-PM was killed by a human bomb. RD as thinking being he responsible for not able to save him resigned from the job of intelligence head and Vikram took a voluntary retirement from army. At last Vikram cursed himself that he was late in saving his ex-PM and assassination got as in planned by LTF. He sends some documents and text related to Jaffna and this tragedy to Jaya.

Review: Such movies are rarely seen in Bollywood with real and sensitive issue. Film was extensively researched and well organized. The cinematography of the movie is excellent. Although movie tried to call the story with fictional names but the plot remains the same as the assassination of Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi and everyone knows that. The movie was mostly focused of John Abraham. His performance in the movie was good and so can be said for Nargis Fakhri. Rest of the crew also did a fair enough job. The story moved with a good pace all along. The movie has been close to the reality of war and shows how the modern warfare tactics used in today’s world. The director didn’t add any masala type elements and strictly stick to the core of the movie which is very appreciable. As a whole Remarkable and commendable work done by Shoojit Sircar and a must watch movie for everyone.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa

Name: Bhool Bhulaiyaa

Synopsis: Badri is head of a Brahmin family. Their ancestral palace is believed to be hounded by a ghost named Manjulika, a Bengali classical dancer. Siddharth (Shiney Ahuja) and Avni (Vidya Balan) who is Siddharth’s wife and also the son of Badri’s elder brother came from America to live there for some time as to complete company’s project over there. Badri insisted Siddharth to live with them but Siddharth said that they had already laid their luggage in that ancestral palace. Siddharth was later crowned as the king of the throne of that place as he was the rightful owner. After some days, Avni sees a big lock on a room in the palace. She asked why the room is locked but everyone told her to stay away from this room as it contains ghost of Manjulika. Avni being curious opened the lock of that room. Soon some unnatural events begin to take place in that palace. Avni came to know about the story of Manjulika and begins to sympathize with her. Badri and Batuk approach a high renowned priest of the village named Yagyaprakash Bharti but came to know that he has gone to London for some work and his followers are not sure when will he return. Siddharth starts suspecting Radha for causing such strange and unnatural events and asks Badri that is Radha is suffering from some psychological disease. He calls his friend Dr. Aditya Srivastva (Akshay Kumar) who is a psychiatrist, so that he can check whether Radha is normal or not.

In the beginning when Aditya reached Siddharth’s home, everyone was thinking him a fool but in reality he is one of renowned psychiatrist. Aditya soon realizes that Radha is perfectly normal and the reason for the strange events happening in the palace is someone else. One night, he hears some sounds coming from a room whose lock was previously opened by Avni and checked the room. He encounters Manjulika’s voice through the closed door. The voice of Manjulika told him that she will going to take her revenge on Durgaashtami, a very sacred day in Hindu mythology. Aditya locks Radha in a room saying that she is the reason for all the strange occurrences in the palace. On the engagement day of Nandini who is Siddharth’s cousin and Sharad Pradhan, everyone was enjoying and partying. Suddenly Aditya asks Siddharth to find Avni and soon, saw a struggle was going on between Avni and Sharad. Siddharth thinks that Sharad was trying to force Avni with her and starts beating him. Later on, Aditya reveals Siddharth that it is Avni who’s suffering from a disease is called Dissociative Identity Disorder, where she believes herself as some other person and she is the one responsible to for strange happening in the palace. He reveals that when he realizes that Avni was suffering from DID disease, he went to her hometown to gather information about her and has told Siddharth the facts about her. He asks Siddharth to stop Avni from going out and he himself will come to know that something is wrong with her. As told by Aditya, Siddharth stops Avni to go outside today and hearing that Avni being possessed as Manjulika warns Siddharth. She this side of Avni, Siddharth got worried and asks Aditya to save her at all costs. He also told Siddharth about Manjulika past. As Avni came to know about the story she deeply influenced with her and has sympathy for her and slowly she becomes possessed by her.

On the day of Durgashtami, Avni was fully possessed by Manjulika dances with Sharad as for love Shashidhar in the past. She tries to kill Siddharth as she (Manjulika possessed) thinks that he is the Vibhuti Narayan in the past who killed her lover. To cure Avni with help of Priest Yagyaprakash Bharti, Aditya plans to have a ritual in which he will let Avni (Manjulika possessed) had her revenge of Siddharth (whe she thinks is Vibhuti Narayan) and after killing him Manjulika should let Avni free. At the moment she tries to stick the killing blow on Siddharth, Aditya changes it with a dummy. Seeing Siddharth killed in possessed state Avni falls down. Later, Avni is healed and cured. All ends well and everyone was happy. Aditya asks Radha that he will like to marry her. He asks Badri that he has asked some question to some and if the answer is yes, just let him know.

Review: One of the very good movies made by Priyadarshan. Story of the movie was very unique and creative although it is more or less same as Chandramukhi movie of the southern legend actor Rajnikant. Akshay Kumar performed the role with full charisma and conviction. Vidya Balan’s performance in the movie was also brilliant and so does the rest of the cast’s performance. Music of the movie is very good as well as the songs of the movie. Movie contains full of thrills and comedy given by Akshay Kumar gives an edge to that. It holds its audience together all the time and the movie goes on at a good pace. It’s a typical psychological thriller with some good comedy in it and it’s a must watch.

Bodyguard

Synopsis: A lady asked Sartaj Rana to help her as her daughter is being kidnapped by some goons and they want to take her abroad to sell her as well as other girls kidnapped from different places. Sartaj asked Security company’s help. Their chief asks Lovely Singh (Salman Khan) to help rescuing those girls. Initially he tried to refuse but when came to know that Sartaj Rana has asked their help, Lovely Singh immediately said yes and went there. He beats the hell out of them and rescues all girls from there. Sartaj Rana asks Lovely Singh to be the bodyguard of her daughter Divya (Kareena Kapoor Khan) as his enemies may try to hurt or kill her just to take revenge me. Her friend Maya (Hazel Keech) also stays most of the time with Divya and they both study together. Divya didn’t want to have Lovely Singh as her bodyguard but after pressurizing from her father, she accepted that. Lovely Singh accompanied Divya and Maya almost everywhere in the college as well as makes them work out on strict basis as per instructed by Sartaj Rana which beings to irritate Divya.  Divya in teaching a lesson to him starts calling and flirting with him as a prank with the name Chhaya. Divya keep calling him with the name Chhaya as Divya’s number was a private number and Lovely Singh didn’t know that. During the calls Chhaya tells Lovely Singh that he is deeply fond of him and is in love with him. Lovely Singh protects Divya in a disco from the goons whom he had previously beaten. Seeing this Divya to falls in love with Lovely Singh but was scared in revealing her identity as she knows that Lovely Singh is completely devoted to his duties and to her father Sartaj Rana.         

On advice of Maya, Divya should do something to end this as when Lovely will came to know that the girl whom he loves as Chhaya is not her but Divya herself what will kind of pain will he go through and also when Divya’s father came know about this he will not spare Lovely at all. So Divya calls Lovely as Chhaya and asks him to meet her but don’t bring Divya with him. Divya on other hand asks Lovely that please he should let her go with him and she will not interrupt them and will not come under their sight. Lovely takes Divya there but Chhaya immediately calls him that she would not him again as he bring Divya with him when he was told not to do so. After few days, Maya seeing love of Divya asks Maya to go with Lovely and she will take care of the rest. Divya calls Lovely to meet her at railway station today but her maid hears all that gives all this information to Sartaj Rana. Meanwhile, when Divya was alone at home, Ranjan Matre with his men kidnapped Divya and asks Lovely to rescue her if he had the courage. Lovely singh came there and rescues her. When they were going back Sartaj Rana gave with his men and starts beating Lovely as according to him he was going to run with Divya. Lovely told them to please let him go as someone is waiting for him at railway station but Sartaj didn’t want to accept this but on giving assurance by Divya he freed Lovely Singh. When Divya came home, she asked Maya to immediately go to railway station to Lovely as her father had ordered his men to kill Lovely if no one shows up to meet him. Maya asks her that she goes as her lover then what will go to happen of Divya’s love and to whom she replied that she would tell the truth once it is assured that his father’s men had gone from there. After waiting for almost all the day no one came to meet Lovely. When the last train was about to leave Maya came running and confront Lovely that she was Chhaya all that time who calls her. Seeing Sartaj’s men gone from their Maya got relieved. Soon Divya calls Maya on phone to talk to Lovely as planned but Maya throws her phone out the train and moves on with Lovely Singh to some place where no one can disturb their life. Several years later, Lovely was about to meet Sartaj before going to London with his son. When they reached Sartaj’s house, Lovely was shocked to see Divya in the house as unmarried who he believed that she should have been married long time ago. His son asked her that whether she had forgiven her mother about her breaking of trust with Divya and apologies on her behalf. He grows a solid bonding with Divya and she reads her mother’s diary which she wrote before dying. On the last day on his stay, his son said Divya as her mother. Infuriated Lovely Singh asks his son to apologize but he walks away. Sartaj too, told Lovely that the child says what he fells and he too feels the same. He takes Divya with him. On the Station, reading his mother’s diaries last pages, Lovely’s son throws the diary and was happy and thanked her mother and went back to train. Lovely saw this and recovered that diary. He read the diary and came to know what Maya has written and also that it was Divya who called her as Chhaya and not Maya. Lovely calls Divya and addresses her as Chhaya. Hearing this Divya came out and hugs him. His son becomes very happy as all are reunited.

Review: It’s a remake of a Malayalam super hit movie having same name and with same director. The movie contains the brilliant performance of Salman khan which is one of the sole reasons that movie had succeeded. Whole of focus was given Salman Khan only in the movie. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s role in movie was not much but whatever it was she did it with ease and comfort and so do was the role of Hazel Keech. Songs of the movie were good and specially “Teri Meri”. Chemistry between the main actors was not much as whole movie comprises of Salman khan only. Dialogues of the movie are great. The movie do contains some turns and twist which make the audience of the movie fully focused. But the story of the movie is more or less the same as the Malayalam movie so people who had seen that movie know what this movie’s story will be. As a whole movie is a blending mixture of romance, drama, twists and a little bit of action and those who are Salman Khan’s fan, it’s a must watch movie for them.

Ek Tha Tiger

     Synopsis: Indian spy code named “Tiger” (Salman Khan) and an officer of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is operating a mission in northern Iraq. Tiger killed one of his own men who has compromised his hands to Pakistan spy agency called Inter Services Intelligence as well he also kills many of the ISI agents during his escape from Iraq. Tiger on return to India meets his boss in New Delhi named Shenoy. He gives him another mission in Dublin where he has to keep an eye on professor of Indian origin named Anwar Jamaal who teaches in Trinity College. He is basically being suspected to share his findings of the research with Pakistan’s ISI. His fellow RAW agent Gopi too accompanied with his mission. He initially finds Professor Anwar and told him that he is a reporter and wants his interview but all in vain. He later on meets Professor Anwar’s caretaker Zoya (Katrina Kaif). He spends his most of time with befriending Zoya and doesn’t give much importance in observing the activities of Professor. Tiger fellow Gopi warns him from time to time not to fall in love of Zoya and focus his activities on observing Professor but Tiger’s whole attention was on Zoya to extract information from her. During a function in theater, Tiger plans to visit Professor’s house see what wrong going on as being information provided by Gopi that some activity is going on in professor’s house. When Tiger reached there he finds that Zoya was a Pakistan’s agency ISI agent who also wants to have information of the professor’s research. Tiger asks her to move aside and handover the information to him but refused that she can’t commit treason to Pakistan. Tiger fired some shots but didn’t kill Zoya and asked him to leave.

        After some time, Tiger and Zoya meet at UN foreign minister’s meet at Istanbul where Zoya signals Tiger to come out as she want to talk to him. With Tiger’s some emotional talk, Zoya at first shows reluctance on going with him as she can’t betray Pakistan but later on agrees to go with him as both of them decided to leave everything for their love. They fooled their respective agencies and take flight to Brazil and but fooled their agencies men that they are going to Kazakhstan when they try to catch them. After few years both agencies ISI and RAW traced Zoya and Tiger in Cuba as they got caught fighting on streets in a CCTV. ISI men caught Zoya and try to take her back. Tiger meets Gopi and asked him to save her from ISI as he and Zoya were coming back to India where Zoya will cooperate with RAW agency. But instead of coming back to India, they board an airplane to escape from their secret service agencies. Tiger, later on called Shenoy where Shenoy told him that RAW will catch both of them and they will deal with hem in the hardest possible manner. Tiger told him that they will return on the day when both Pakistan and India no longer need their respective secret services that is ISI and RAW. In the end, images of both Zoya and Tiger were shown in Venice, Cape Town, Zurich and London where they were seen as reported but till date they haven’t captured them.

        Review: It’s a film which is at all based on Salman Khan’s dashing and electrifying performance and not more than that. Katrina Kaif looks as usual charming and stunning and also did some mind blowing action scenes in the movie. The movie no doubt contains some dazzling action sequences and also some of the most beautiful and stunning locations. Songs of the movie were fair enough and so was the music but what was weak is the story part of the movie. Though it has a fair enough balance between both love affair and spying activities but you will not able to figure out as a whole what type of movie is this or I should say what the movie is all about a love affair or secret service spying activities movie. This is one of drastic drawbacks of the movie. This is a fairly entertainment movie with dashing and sizzling performance of Salman khan and for those who are die hard fan of Salman Khan it’s a must watch for them.

Singham

Name: Singham

Synopsis: Rakesh Kadam an honest police officer in Goa commits suicide due to false charges of corruption being framed on him by Jaikant Shikre (Prakash Raj) and a local minister of Goa as a Rakesh was giving them a lot of trouble for the kidnapping racket to operate smoothly. His wife plans to have revenge against Jaikant. Bajirao Singham an honest police officer of a village called Shivgarh near Goa-Maharashtra border. He deals most of the cases of the village very calmly and peacefully without any formal police complaints and which results to villagers having utmost respect and love for him. Gautam Bhosla is now an industrialist and a friend of Singham’s father Manikrao Singham comes to Shivgarh with his wife and two daughters. Elder daughter’s name is Kavya (Kajal Aggarwal). One day Kavya with her younger daughter and his grandfather goes to a theater to see a movie. There some goons misbehaved with Kavya. Being humiliated they all came back but Singham hears the entire story, took Kavya back to that theater and beats the hell out of those goons. Kavya after that falls in love with Singham. Jaikant in one case gives a conditional bail that he has to go to Shivgarh police station to sign the police register. His aide signs the register but one day Singham notices that and being in rage and anger ordered real Jaikant to come to the station. Jaikant being in humiliated and anger goes to the police station and try to intimidate Singham but couldn’t able to do so as most of Singham village people came there and as they were very aggressive, Jaikant has to step back. He plans to transfer Singham to Goa where he can show him his might and power.

Singham unaware of Jaikant’s plans came to Colva police station of Goa. There from his co-workers he came to know that no police officer couldn’t take action against Jaikant because of his top political connections and he was the main reason that honest officer like Rakesh Kadam had committed suicide. He tries to talk to DGP Vikram Pawar but he also takes his hand down as there is no evidence against him.  Jaikant starts mental torturing Singham by various acts and however if takes some action DSP Patkar came each time and free Jaikant’s henchmen. He also goes to the local minister but he tells him that Jaikant is very powerful and he can’t do anything against him and Singham should also stay away. Seeing all this, he was very dejected and wants to return to his village but Kavya stops him and encourages him to fight like a man against all these evils   and don’t run away like cowards. Singham arrests Jaikant’s top aide Shiva and puts him in a fake liquor case. DSP Patkar tries to rescue Shiva but Singham in whole public view scold Patkar him that he is not doing his duty towards the public but doing duty towards goons like Jaikant. Inspector kadam’s wife asks Singham to help him clear his husband’s charges as he is not getting any help from DGP and local minister. Meanwhile, Jaikant kidnaps Kavya’s younger daughter but Singham succesfull managed to rescue her able to know Jaikant is behind a kidnapping racket. Jaikant on other hand wins the election and became the minister of Goa. He gives Singham’s transfer orders and told him that Singham couldn’t do anything about it. Singham at that night in a police function confronts every DGP Pawar and DSP Patkar and asks him that why they couldn’t do anything against people like Jaikant but guys like Jaikant has made a mockery out of policemen. He tells them that he going to do something against guys like Jaikant tonight. Feeling with guilt whole police department came to Singham’s aide. They went to Jaikant’s house to kill him but Jaikant somehow manages to escape. After running and hiding in the city, police catches him. They bring him into police station made him sit on the very chair (where inspector Kadam sat and shoot himself) and shoot him. They forced Shiva to change his statement otherwise he will get the same treatment as Jaikant. At media conference they told media that they have received news about to illegal activities of Jaikant and when they went to his home to arrest him he found shot dead as he has committed suicide. Police clear all corruption charges on Inspector Kadam. In the end they moved out of Press conference where Mrs Kadam salutes those police officers like Singham. 

Review: It’s a remake of Tamil movie, Singam. But yes, it’s a very good remake made by Rohit Shetty. High voltage stunts, electrifying action sequences, very well written dialogues and  High flying cars in mid air, the movie has all that which makes it a very good action movie with fully energetic performance of Ajay Devgan and elegant and effortless performance from Kajal Aggarwal. Ajay Devgan performance in the movie takes us to the old great movies of Bollywood where angry young police officers try’s to take on the bad guys. Prakash Raj’s performance can’t be taken away, a very good one. Songs of the movie were average but the music of the movie was great. Most of the story line is almost the same as Singam of Tamil but it can be expected as it is a remake of it. First of the movie goes on a little decent one but the second part is full of action. Movie as a whole is full of action and entertainment and a must watch.

Ram Leela : Movie Review

Review: One of the most commendable works of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Love, Romance, Drama at its level best. Based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, one who knows the story of Romeo and Juliet can assume what story of the Ram Leela will be, but the way it has been presented by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is magical and exceptional. Ranveer Singh performance is good in the movie but Deepika Padukone has raised the standards of acting sighting it for perfection.  Music and songs of the movie are also good and one of its kind. It’s a true “Master Piece” made by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and a must watch movie full of Romance, Love and Drama.

Stars given: 3.5 out of 5.

Synopsis: Rahul Jaykar a successful musician but whose career was going down because of alcohol addiction was performing a show in Goa. When he about to complete a song on stage he was interrupted by a person who throws a bottle at him. Rahul had a fight with him left from there and goes to bar. He meets a girl over there called Aarohi (Shraddha Kapoor) who is a big fan of Rahul. After noticing the photo of Lata Mangeshwar in bar he thought that she wants to be a singer. Hearing her voice, he got impressed and told her that he will change her life by turning her into a singing sensation and also asks her stop singing in the bar. Aarohi leaves the job and gone back to Mumbai to her parents with Rahul who convinced her to turn her into a singing sensation. Rahul convinces his producer for the audition of Aarohi. When Aarohi tries to talk to Rahul, suddenly he was attacked by some unknown people. Rahul got injured and wasn’t able to take calls of Aarohi. His manager Vivek told everyone that Rahul had gone out of Country to perform, so his news of being injured shouldn’t be in public. Aarohi tries to contact Vivek too when she was unable to contact Rahul but Vivek everytime ignores her calls and sometime make wrong excuses. This keep happened for two months. Aarohi in desperation and need of money forced to sing in a bar. When Rahul recovered from injuries he came to know that for the past 2 months he was trying to contact her and Vivek had continuously ignored her calls without telling him. Rahul also came to know that she had again started singing in a bar. Rahul apologizes to Aarohi and asks her to meet his producer. Aarohi training starts with Rahul and she signed a contract with the firm for singing in films. Aarohi and her family were very happy. Aarohi was gaining Popularity people starts gossiping that how Rahul was using her as servant and hearing these gossips Rahul’s alcohol addiction again starts. Aarohi loves Rahul very much and starts movin with him very much. But some instances happen when people choose Aarohi over him and start neglecting him completely and this leads only to situation of Rahul from bad to worse. He tells her that he will stop drinking but when a journalist accused him of using Aarohi for her personal benefits. Rahul had a fight with that journalist and again starts drinking and created mess that day. Seeing Rahul in such deteriorated state in lockup Aarohi begins to worry for him. She was ready to help Rahul to any extent to help him. Rahul realized that he is the biggest obstacle in Aarohi’s promising carrier. Rahul promises Aarohi that will not do anything that will hurt her and will become a changed man for good. He drives his cars, make it stop on a bridge near a river, jumps into it and commits suicide. Aarohi goes in deep shock. Being in anger and devastated that Rahul commits suicide leaving her alone, she stops singing and wanted to go back. Vivek at that time came make Aarohi realized that it Rahul knew that he was the biggest obstacle for her carrier and to remove that he committed suicide. Soon Aarohi was on stage taking appreciations of her fans. On a beach a couple asked autograph of Aarohi and she write Aarohi Rahul Jaykar.

Review: It’s a pure romantic movie with brilliant performances of Aditya Roa Kapoor and Shraddha kapoor. Both the Actors’ performance was very good. This movie is a mixture of romance, strong emotions and deception. Mohit Suri direction is also good. The movie is about love and the oneness belonging in love. Chemistry of Aditya and Shraddha was incredible. After so much time, such a heart touching move has been seen. It’s simply fantabulous movie and it’s a must watch movie for those who like to romantic movies. Hat’s off to whole Crew of the movie.
